Matt Cockbain Rugby Clinic (MCRC) was established in 2008, by World Cup Winning Wallaby and Queensland Reds player, Matt Cockbain, to provide quality clinics for rugby enthusiasts wanting to improve their skills.

After 20 years of playing rugby, including 63 caps as a Wallaby and 91 caps at the Queensland Reds, Matt saw an opportunity to share his experience and knowledge with those who wish to advance in their sport.

Coaching professionally with the Queensland Reds and Melbourne Rebels, Matt enjoyed working with young players to develop their skills. Now coaching in Melbourne, Matt saw a need to further develop the local talent.

The Matt Cockbain Rugby Clinics are aimed at coaching the core skills of rugby to the clinic participants. What are the core skills? The general skills all players need to play the game well and to enhance their individual ability and improve personally.

Matt's philosphy on coaching is to make it fun, interesting and challenging for the participants. MCRC's speciality is stripping it back to basics, providing expert feedback, and building on the core skills through drills and game like situations. Mastering these skills will help build the foundation for a successful career in rugby union.
